I try to understand what is going on so far with Doctor Who. When will they give me what I want. I want a reason to watch this. I want to be excited about this new companion. I feel no real connection with her as yet. I mean with Amy she had to grow on me. So I guess I have to give her some time. She is cute. So what about this episode that jumped out at me. Nothing. Another mindless journey in another time fighting some useless enemy. I love the Daleks. I loved the Cybermen. I especially loved the OOD. Don’t talk about the episode of the Satan Pit. Now that was epic. Had me to the edge of my seat.
So we are at Yorkshire 1893 and they are trying to figure out a mystery. The Mystery of the Crimson Horror. People showing up dead and covered in red poison. So how did a dead man have the image of the Doctor in his eyes. Well Jenny, Strax and Madam Vastra went around looking for him and found him. The Doctor explained how he got there in the first place. He walked right into the trap and not using that brain of his to be a little more cautious. I guess the previous Doctors had a bit more of a spine than this one. I guess him losing his friends made him soft. I hope that is the reason. So anyway we get a little flash back of what happened. He was captured then put in the (red stuff) causing serious rigour mortice. Then using the screw driver, a chamber and sheer dumb luck he was back to his crazy self.
Now the Doctor is free and out for revenge. Well his version of revenge is usually non lethal and probably won’t kill you. Not like the episode of Human Nature. You know when he was running for his life from the Family of Blood. He had to use the Chameleon Arch to transfer his “Time Lord Configuration” to a Fob watch. Another epic episode. Good times..
We find out the old lady has this prehistoric parasite literally attached to her. Making her do evil stuff I suppose. I think she was evil anyway. Made her do experiments on her daughter making her blind and horribly scarred. As you know with all lonely organisms they want to destroy the world because they are lonely. She was gonna have the poison to be ejected in the atmosphere causing everyone to become either ill or dead. The Lizard lady and friends foiled her plan. Stealing the poison. Hurray… So being cornered and without a plan she resort to brute force and a gun. Alien Odd Job shot near her and she lost her footing and fell plenty floors down. Yeah she was dead. Before she died the little parasite crept off her. Leaving her to die. Granny asked it why is it leaving but seriously granny you barley could of walked and you fell down at least 3 stories high. You dead.
Ugh this episode wasn’t even interesting. Just random stuff happening. I guess the next episode will make me a believer once again. For now I feel like to EXTERMINATE!!! EXTERMINATE!!!
