So we finally get a good look on Nintendo’s new console.
It will be releasing this March 3rd 2017.
You will be getting One Joy-Con controllers
(in your choice of slate grey or neon blue and neon red),
Joy-Con Grip, Switch Dock and Joy-Con straps.
The Joy-Con controller was the main focus for the new console. There is an IR Blaster built into the bottom of the Joy-Con. It also has an HD rumble. It was explained that you can feel the difference between the amount of ice in a cup and also when it is being poured. During the presentation Nintendo said the controller could recognize hand gestures, for example, and would know the difference between rock, paper and scissors. The Joy-Con Controller can not be charged separately and will need the Joy-Con Grip that uses USB-C to charge. Also you it can be charged using the Switch Console.
There is also the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller for those that want that console gaming controller. It will cost $69. Anyone who plays FPS will definitely will be purchasing this. I know I would.
The Switch will have several modes of play including traditional home console TV Mode, Tabletop Mode where the console stands up on its kickstand and Handheld Mode, where multiple people can play simultaneously. Up to 8 Nintendo Switch Consoles can be hooked up for wireless gameplay. Also what should be noted that the Nintendo Switch won’t be region locked. Allowing you to play those JRPG’s in the United States.
As far as battery life is concerned, you can expect your Switch to last between 2.5 and 6.5 hours in handheld mode. How long it last is entirely dependent on which game you’re playing – games that force the processor to work harder will of course sap the battery quicker.
Also the Dock which will charge the Nintendo Switch will be able to keep it cool allowing it to display in full 1080p. You can buy the dock separately for $90. So having the dock in every room of the house giving you the freedom to truly play wherever you want. No backward compatibility with Wii disc games. It is confirmed that the Nintendo Switch will be using Cartridges.
Online Services
Will be available for co-op and multiplayer games. This will be the first Nintendo Console to charge for Online gaming. It will be free for six months then there will be a subscription fee after that. Like PSN there will be free games to play while you are a subscription holder. Unlike Xbox Live where the game is totally free. You can share screenshots, shop the eShop and manage friends online without having to pay for the subscription.
Games
At the Nintendo Switch presentation they showed of some of their first party games. 1,2 Switch, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2, three totally unrevealed games.

Outside of the three first-party titles, you can also expect Project Octopath Traveler, Dragon Quest X and XI, Fire Emblem Warriors and FIFA (yes, it’s just called FIFA) as well as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the Switch.
We also got the news that a remastered version of Mario Kart 8 (named Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) would be coming to the Switch in April with additional tracks and characters.
The star of the show, however, was the new The Legend of Zelda game, Breath of the Wild, which launches on the same day as the Switch, March 3 2017.

MY THOUGHTS
The presentation was fun. When I mean fun I am talking about the presenters. You can tell that they are very passionate about their games. Which brings me to a disappointing reality. There isn’t that much games that will have more rushing to order one. The controllers are very cool but leave me thinking Wii all over again. This time there is no annoying bar to setup. Also the two games that grabbed my attention was Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda..(why call it Zelda if that heifer don’t do squat while Link does all the work). Sadly Zelda will be available also for the Wii-U. So the only pull would be Mario. Which will be coming out aaaaaaallllll the way “Holiday 2017”. So by that time Nintendo will release enough consoles that we CAN ACTUALLY BUY. Just a heads up Nintendo will probably only make 10 every week for each major store chain to purchase. I give Nintendo a 3 out 5 for their presentation. Lack of AAA titles. Come on Nintendo SHOW ME THE MONEY!
