After thirteen long years of its hiatus, Samurai Jack will finally return to television with its fifth and final season on March 11, 2017 at 11:30 p.m., Adult Swim announced.
According to Samurai Jack creator and director Genndy Tartakovsky, the fifth season will take place years after the original series’ ending.
“I think we’re going to see [Jack] in a new light because we’e going to see him from a different standpoint,” said writer Darrick Bachman. “In the original series he was very heroic person on a very rigid quest. Now we pick up with him an it’s many years after the fact and he’s a little bit lost. So it’s a story of redemption and him trying to find who he is again.”
Being a huge fan I can’t wait to see what adventures await us the fans. Replaying the series over again just to get our mind fresh on all things Jack would be something Adult Swim could do for one day. A Samurai Jack marathon.
