Star Wars VIII is now Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars episode VIII finally have a name. Star Wars: The Last Jedi was announced via the Star Wars website.

We have the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy. In appreciation of the fans, we wanted them to be the first to know the title of the next chapter in the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.

THE LAST JEDI is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is scheduled for release December 15, 2017.

StarWars.com. All Star Wars, all the time.

Now remember that “Jedi” can be singular or plural. Speculations are running red over the internet about the demise of Rey and Luke. One fan said we can see Rey be killed and Luke become the main character all along. Or even Luke and Rey be killed. Then Finn turned out to be the last Jedi who is the son of Mace Windu! Yeah I am stretching a bit with the last theory but this does give us something to chew on after Rogue One.
