Gone are the days when AAA title games come out for consoles. There is a company that have surpassed my own expectations. Supercell who brought us big games like Clash of Clans and Hay Day have brought yet another smash hit.
I won’t lie I just about gave up on Clash of Clans. I was tired of the long wait for buildings, cooking troops and the dependance on others to battle wars. What I needed was a fresh new game to catch my eye. Not another IAP (in app purchases) type cash cow.
Clash Royale is a tower defense game where players collect and upgrade different cards that are based on characters from the Clash of Clans universe. Each card is unique, and you can only have 8 in a deck at a time. They are used with the goal of destroying your opponent’s towers. Victories lead to more cards, trophies and glory. Players can unlock new arenas, challenge other players online, and form clans to share cards and participate in private duels.
You can only use 8 cards in any one battle. In the battle, your source of Elixir is the Elixir Bar, which can store up to 10 Elixir. Each Elixir is produced per 2.8 seconds. As the battle goes on, you can put your troops in the enemy’s territory, and in the last 60 seconds, your Elixir production will produce twice as fast, with 1 Elixir being produced every 1.4 seconds.
As you know there is two types of currency. Gems and Gold. That is how they make their money. I don’t know but opening chests just seem right. Nothing is better than getting that new card smell from beating you foe. Unlike Clash of Clans you can continue playing even if you have gotten all of your chest slots full. Which means the fun never ends. If you got a new card you want to try out there is even a training match. Also there is TV Royale. Yes it is like the twitch version of Clash Royale right there within the app. This is where you can see the best of the best duke it out. You can get some nice strategy from there.
All in all I would highly recommend this game if you are into RTS type games. Especially if you like games with deep strategy and the flexibility to play at your own pace. The temptation is there to spend real money to progress but good news! You can progress without spending real money. So stop loafing and check this fun free game! Links are below
